West Head with our German Friend

We had three place to go and show our friend so I decided to put the names in a hat and West Head came out, the other places were the Blue Mountains and Patonga all beautiful places.  I am glad we went to West Head as Horst was blown away by the views.  It started off a bit hazy and then cleared up to be a lovely sunny day.

This is the time for our Sydney Red Gum (Anaphora) Trees to loose their bark.
Lion Island.
While we were there the Sea Plane came in to land, haven't see that before.
I like our crazy bush.
Lovely Wallaby very rare to see at West Head.
We are glad we were able to show our friend what a wonderful place we live.

Bye for now

Another Day with our German Friend

We decided to take Horst to see Kiama, yes I know we had been there not long ago.  I have managed to get some different photos and the blowhole was working a lot better this time.

My husband being a Tree Hugger.

Very interesting rock formation.

Tour Guides for our German Friend

We have a friend from Bavaria Germany staying with us for a couple of weeks, we have taken him to North Head Sydney, then Freshwater and Dee Why.

We were lucky to see a Cruise ship going out through the heads, sadly it was a really hazy day due to the burn offs in Sydney we're having, still great for a visitor to see, and I got to see whales off the heads (first time our visitor has seen whales), not as close as I would have liked but luckily I had my long lens with me.  I have cheated a bit I had to crop (photoshop) some of them so I could bring them closer, doesn't matter I did see them that is all that matters.

Bye everyone have a great holiday.

Below some of our beautiful Aussie Flowers and I love the untidy bush we have.

Below a view from North Head looking North up the Coast.
The second photo is a view from Freshwater across to Manly.

Veiw from Dee Why to Long Reef.

Above three tiles put along the footpath at Dee Why Beach
Late afternoon the seagulls come and scavage along the beach.

To finish our lovely day we went to a resturant in Dee Why called Mezzonette , our visitor also paid for us, we really appreciated it.

Bye for now

Walking in the Mornings in September + Manly 2012

Here we go again I have had to walk again instead of my swimming.  Same old thing, other tattoo (the sun ones) I am now calling them that because I have little almost white spots on my skin more and more.  I really wish we had known what damage sun baking could have done to us, but alas we didn't so now we are paying for it, so far all is well.  These photos are some I decided to take on my morning walks, I know I have done this before but I decided to go to different places this time in our beautiful area.
One morning while having coffee at the beach I had my camera and managed to get photos of a pod of dolphins.

All my years living around the Lagoon I have never seen so many Pelicans in one place, must be very healthy with fish at the moment.

Off to Manly for a few hours the day was a beautiful sunny day.
Burn Off in the distant
Manly Markets
A walkway is still there, I use to go through as a seventeen old when living in Manly
My yummy salad lunch.
The next day while riding my bike.
A view from where I grew up,  below a couple of old buildings still standing, most have gone.

I must say I did enjoy my walking and bike riding mornings, it gives me a chance to have a really good around my area.

Enjoy your day
