KANGAROO ISLAND & ADELAIDE

"KANGAROO ISLAND"
on my Birthday 

The next day was my Birthday we went to KANGAROO ISLAND, 'wow' what a lovely island that is. They are very environmental on all aspects. We did a tour for the day, bus pick up at 6-20am a two hour drive to ferry and the a 45minute ride to the Island and a full day bus trip around the island with a great tour guide Kevin, he had great knowledge of the island as he was once a farmer himself there, we got the boat back about 7-30pm and then bus back to Adelaide city arriving at 10-45pm. We certainly recommend a trip to their Island.

As we were leaving to see the New Zealand Fur Seals they have this basket to show everyone what rubish is going into the ocean that hurts the wildlife there, makes you think.

While on the Island for my Birthday an Australian Horse called "BLACK CAVIAR" won in Adelaide, she had now won 20 races from 20, since then she won again in Adelaide now 21 out of 21 races.  She is going over to England to race for the "Queen's Jubilee" good on you Black Caviar.

Back to Adelaide

The next day Sunday morning we decidede to go to Glenelg Adelaide.  We haven't been there since our son Evan did springboard diving championships 26 years.  It still look similar only now with high rise all along the coast.  It was a nice feeling going back to have a look.

Back to Adelaide City there was a Food & Wine Festival (how nice to put on such a great event for us).  It was packed with people all along the river.  We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves as it was just down from our hotel "Intercontinental" so we didn't have to drive.  Oh! by the way if you are a senior they allow anyone from any state to use their card.  We didn't pay any fare the whole time we were there except for the day tour to Kangaroo Island.  Even going to Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills was free.  During the week 9-30am to 3pm it is free and free all weekend.

Trip to Perth and Adelaide

Wow! what a wonderful trip this was, my husband suggested we go to Perth for his family reunion for one day and night, then onto Adelaide for four nights, I have to say it was a reallygreat idea of his.  The family reunion was really good, we really got to know some of the new relatives, we stayed at his cousins Cal's place it was really great to see her and Cam.

The next day we arrived in Adelaide, we had a really lovely time there, we did a bit of the city and the next day went to Handolf in the Hills and then Kangaroo Island and the last there was a Food & Wine Festival in the city not far from our our hotel which was the "Intercontinental".

High Tea at the" Emporium Collaroy"

My lovely daughter Elise and niece Monique took me to High Tea at Collaroy for a belated birthday present, this time I didn't have an amnesia attack not like my birthday last year .My grand-daughter Layla came along as well she is 3 years old.  I recommend it to anyone, we had beautiful little cakes and sandwiches plus Magie Beers non-alcoholic wine, it was beautiful, I sipped it quite slowly thinking I had to drive not knowing it was non-alcoholic.  Little Layla is becoming technology savvy, she loves to look a photos, she loves her mum's i-phone.

Anzac at Narrabeen

Each year Narrabeen RSL has their ANZAC Day the Sunday before ANZAC Day 25th April.  Dave and I have attended for about 3 years.  They start the mach from the Narrabeen Terminus and walk up to the cenotaph near the Narrabeen Lakes Primary School.  They are lead by the Warringah Scottish Band and the police close Pittwater Road for the march.  Dave marches with a friend of ours.  After we go to the RSL for lunch.

Dave's eye problem

Dave somehow got something in his eye, he went to his local doctor but he couldn't get it out.  We then had to go to the Sydney Eye Hospital, I had to drive to town, I don't drive to town anymore as we get chauffeured an taken in a  mercedes benz, yes it is our public transport.  On that Saturday I did drive and I did really well, I am patting myself on the back.  We had to wait from 2-15pm to 8pm. Anyway while I was waiting for Dave I went down to the shopsto have lunch, these are the photos I took while I was out.   Later when we went to get the car out of the carpark the door was closing down, luckily the man at the gate was leaving as well so he let us out.  I hate to think how we could have got out.
